Barook Yaringa |
| Owners | Peter and Debra McCormack |
| Acquired | 2002 |
Background |
Originally owned by Geoff Post (then Barook Sydney) and
launched at Newcastle in 1981. Known to have voyaged to Lord Howe
Island. Re-launched March 2003 following major refit.
"She has only just gone back in the water after undergoing some major repairs and refit which was carried out on my property, not to far from Yaringa. Took aprox 6 months. Many small mod's but 2 major ones were - Moved both port and stbd winch's from the aft deck, forward to the sides of the cockpit and level with the wheel steering. This allows me to tack from the helm single handed. And the other, was to mount the new single lever engine control on the side of the steering pod. This allows ease of operation whilst under motor and more room in the cockpit." Peter McCormack 18 May 2003 |
